One of the most dramatic improvements in facial appearance can be achieved through the use of facial implants. A subtle and shapely heightening or enlargement can add to a youthful, attractive appearance, and often improve one’s self-confidence. Prominent and well-defined cheeks, chin, and jawlines can create a more “sculpted” or contoured look. These procedures can also benefit those with facial asymmetries or congenital defects.
Dr. Hoefflin performs cheek, chin, and mandible enhancement surgery for patients who wish to further enhance their facial balance and harmony. Cheek, chin, and mandible facial implants come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are usually placed through small incisions within the mouth, leaving no visible scars. The implant choice depends on your individual anatomy and desired effect. Patient satisfaction after facial implant surgery is usually very high.
Although frequently performed as an isolated procedure, facial augmentation can be performed in combination with other procedures such as a facelift, necklift, and facial liposuctioning to enhance your overall aesthetic result. Chin implants are often recommended to patients undergoing rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) to improve the overall facial proportion and balance.
During your consultation, Dr. Hoefflin will review with you the various implant sizes, types and incisional placement of cheek and chin implants. Customized literature will be provided that discusses each procedure in detail. Before and after photographs of similar forehead lift patients will be reviewed.
Dr. Hoefflin performs cheek and chin implants as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia with deep sedation, administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist. The procedure usually takes 1-2 hours. All operations are performed in fully credentialed and state-of-the-art surgical facilities.

The incision line choice depends on your individual case and the doctor’s judgment for the best aesthetic result. In time, these incisions become virtually undetectable.
